The South African national side toured Australia in 1947 playing a total of 23 games against the Socceroos and the various state and district based representative sides. Following their return from New Zealand, South Africa played 6 of the 23 games while waiting for a ship to return home including this one. The delay was caused by a shipping strike. | ||||
