Cosmos v Power

Round 22 report by Chris Kunz
Canberra Cosmos v Parramatta Power

On a beautiful, balmy evening, Canberra recorded their third successive victory over the Power (including a trial game win).

Power rarely troubled a composed Canberra side - in fact the visitors struggled to put more than four passes together at any stage. Apart from a goal correctly disallowed for offside, Parramatta rarely threatened.

Time and again Canberra found room all over the field and, particularly in the first half put together some lovely passing moves that culminated in missed opportunities.

Had coach Sermanni made a replacement (probably Prensovski on for the talented but obviously tiring De Jesus) early in the second half - Cosmos may well have won by considerably more than the one goal.

Instead Prenzovski warmed up to no avail for most of that half and most have left the ground in great frustration, with many in the crowd calling for Ivo's replacement as he valiantly pushed himself to chase each ball - but not with the power and pace required.

This was Tommy's Scottish stubborness at its worst, for while the home side did manage to win - it could so easily have been two points lost in the blink of an eye.

Still, another encouraging performance by the home team - now two wins and only one loss in the last seven.
