What started off a scrappy game developed into an almost reasonable spectacle in the 2nd half as both teams went on the attack. Firstly however Newcastle tried to pressure but the first of two defences blunders by Zorichich allowed Stevens in to score in the 7th minute, and then Swancott was beaten to parry a shot in the 17th min which Stevens swooped on and placed it in the net. United fought back and a clear chances to Bounavoglia in the 19th min, Zoricich (35th), and Junky (49th), were to be lamented later. When Urlovic scored his first at the 57th min mark it looked to be curtains for Newcastle but they fought back and after Trpcevski hit a great curling ball which was just picked out by the Kingz keeper, Daniel McBreen scored his first NSL goal by tapping it in after good pressure from Surjan. Dodd and Trpcevski both squandered chances that could have turned the game and as United pushed men up the Kingz punished them through Urlovic again in the 83rd and Silva (totally unmarked) in the 88th. All over, 5-1, and the Kingz deserved this win over a Newcastle team with dire central defensive errors.
