Round 2 report by Nick Guoth
Canberra Cosmos 0 - Sydney United 0

This was the opening home game for the newly founded Canberra Cosmos. In front of a good crowd The locals showed incredible spirit to hold out for a 0-0 draw. Mainly fueled on by some rather interesting comments of the Sydney coach, Branko Culina, the Cosmos played their hearts out in defence, especially when they lost Lachlan Armstrong early in the second half for a second bookable offence.
Man of the match was undoubtedly the Canberra goal keeper Danny Milosevic. He produced great save after great save and had the crowd enthrawled by his continuous acrobatics. Overall, the home team showed that they were just getting to know each other as numerous small errors were occuring throughout the match. Paul Wade looked a little uncomfortable behind the defence as sweeper, but until the team finds someone to take up that position, Paul will have to do his best.
Sydney United showed why they were a good team last season with numerous strong attacks and probably deserved to get a goal. They were more constructive and better tuned in to the game. Unfortunately for the team itself, they were fined by Soccer Australia because of their spectators throwing flares on to the pitch.
