| Since the World Cup Qualifier between Australia and Iran I've been a little slow in keeping the NSL up-to-date and hence the match-to-match commentary has had to take a backseat. However I distinctly recall this game for two reasons. Tom Pondeljak and Tom Pondeljak. The first goal was right from kickoff and while no-one is likely to beat Damian Mori's 4 second effort against Sydney United this one was close and, what's more, a team effort. The second goal came from a long pass over the top of the Newcastle defence which was still bouncing awkwardly as Pondaljak chased it down when he just hit it on the volley from outside the penalty box in leftfield and into the far top corner of goal.
