Well after all the fanfare the Northern Spirit have now lost their first two games and scored no goals, what's worse is that they now have 3 red cards in 2 games. The first half of this game had everything you could want in a game in terms of action. Some of the action lacked a proper finishing touch and hence no goals were scored. I suppose the penalty which young Paul Henderson stopped from John Markovski was the closest thing to a goal although Danny Milosevic was also earning his keep at the other end. From the second half however it was almost entirely the Glory show, the injury to Ian Crook possibly leading to a lack of defensive confidence. Also the sense of frustration among the Spirit was almost tangible and it showed most clearly in Robbie Slater whose performance went from OK to mediocre in the course of the game. Luke Casserly collected his second yellow just after Paul Strudwick headed in a deflected shot. Then after Bilokapic's cynical tackle in midfield the Spirit were down to 9 and John Markovski found himself in acres of space beyond the far post and drilled the ball between the keepers legs to seal a satisfying win.
