The only goal of the first half came from Ivan Razov, and the Falcons were on top for most of the period without getting on target. In the second half, the Knights seemed to become stronger and Mijo Trupkovic scored twice to give his team a clear-cut win. The Victorian Institutue of Sport beat Bentleigh Greens by four goals to one at Kim Reserve. France Melino put Bentleigh Greens in front in ten minutes, but Billy Petrovski equalised for the VIS five minutes later. Joey Di Iorio scored next for the VIS in 53 minutes, following his recent appointment to a scholarship. Zoran Petrevski converted a penalty kick after 57 minutes, and Billy Petrovski made it four with his second goal in 65 minutes. Carlton squeaked home against Heidelberg United by a single goal from Steve Martin after 33 minutes. Carlton's troubles were self-inflicted as Jovanco Novacevski and Andy Vargas were sent off for second yellow card offences.' Altona Magic and South Melbourne drew three-all in a thriller at Paisley Reserve. Franc Catalano scored the only goal of the first half in 42 minutes to put the Blues in front, and Robert Liparotti added a second in 56 after Steve Bogdanovski had equalised for the Magic. Pece Cergovski levelled the scores once again 59 and Steve Markovski put the Magic ahead for the first time after 79 minutes. There was only three minutes left when George Goutzioulis popped up to tie the scores once more. Bulleen beat South Melbourne Rockets by two goals to one at Bob Jane Stadium. Wade Baldwin opened for QAS, but then Angelo Petratos equalised before the interval and Jim Baris and Peter Zorzas gave Olympic a handy break. Mark Battiston then took a hand with a goal in open play in 63 minutes and a penalty kick after 80 to give QAS a share of the points. The AIS had a four-nil win over Marconi Fairfield with two goals each to the inevitable Mile Sterjovski who now has seventeen for the season and Marc Bresciano who now has six. Wollongong City just beat the ACT Academy of Sport by three goals to two at Brandon Park. Sydney United and the New South Wales Institute of Sport drew two-all at Parramatta Stadium with goals by Daniel Kukucka and Ryan Griffiths being cancelled out by Lou Wilkinshire and Simon Catanzaro's efforts for the Institute. Sydney United Colts caused a boilover by beating Newcastle Breakers three-two to record the Colts first win of the season. Azur Mujanovic with two and Tony Krslovic were the Colts scorers, while David Hodgson and Chris Tancevski scored for the Breakers. It was a tough physical game, but Tom Maris was unlucky to be sent off for his second bookable offence late in the game.
