AUSTRALIA has gone down 2-1 to host nation CHILE, in the first round of matches of the Four Nation Tournament in Valparaiso, Chile.
STEVE CORICA leveled the scores at 1-1 in the 15th minute of the game after Chile took the lead at the fifth minute mark, but a late penalty secured the points for the home team.
The LG Socceroos also had defender JASON VAN BLERK sent off twenty minutes from full time.
