The New South Wales National Premier Leagues Player of the Year is awarded to the leading player across the competition. It was previously named the Gold Medal and continued after the implementation of the National Premier Leagues competition in 2013.
Prior to 1981 it was known as the Rothmans Medal in lieu of a sponsorship deal with a tobacco company.
Voting for the award is conducted on a 3-2-1 points scenario with each club nominating their three best players throughout the NPL competition.
