Queensland Sting defeated Adelaide Sensation 4-0, with four crushing goals within the twenty minute period leading into halftime.

In very hot and blustery conditions, the match started as an even contest. Adelaide Sensation, although missing the midfield leadership of Cheryl Salisbury through injury, were unlucky not to score from either Lisa De Vanna or Stacey Stocco. Not long after, Queensland stepped up a gear and opened up holes in the opposition defence, creating some uncertainty in the usually solid Adelaide outfit.

Four chances were created and all converted. Kate McShea started the ball rolling in the 26th minute, a dangerous cross left uncleared by the Sensation backline and the Sting captain smacked the ball first time into the back of the net. In the 35th minute, a Queensland shot was blocked by the outcoming keeper, but the crumbs fell loose for Belinda Dawney, her shot finding goal despite a defender's attempt to clear off the line.

Just four minutes later, an Adelaide miskick in defence found Queensland's Lana Harch whose strike hit the bottom of the post, allowing the lurking Natalie Thomas to strike with ease from 10 metres. Shortly before the break, McShea claimed a second, shrugging off her marker from just inside the 18-yard box and thumping her shot past the outcoming keeper. After such a flurry of action, the game fizzled out in the heat, with few highlights and no addition to the score in the second half.

Northern NSW Pride, for the second time in a week, proved far too strong for Victoria Vision, coming away with a 4-0 win. Northern looked lively from the opening minutes, whilst Victoria battled hard but were unable to threaten near goal.

Pride opened their account in the 20th minute, Katie Gill on the end of a well directed ball from deep and making no mistake from 14 metres. Shortly after the half hour mark, a cross from the left was clinically finished by Amber Neilson.

Three minutes after the break, the polished attack of Northern scored number three, Gill flicking on the ball for Neilson to sidefoot her shot from 15 metres out. A solo effort from Sarah Fitzgerald was Victoria's best chance but her drive was parried around the post. Midway through the second half, Northern struck again when Ashley Wilson's drive on the turn found the target.

NSW Sapphires and Canberra Eclipse shared the coveted points in a 1-1 draw, Canberra taking the early lead against a disappointing Sapphires before NSW finally lifted their game and found the equaliser from the penalty spot.

Despite the absence of injured striker Caitlin Munoz, Canberra were sharp and creative and took the game to a flat, uninspired Sapphires. Eclipse were rewarded in the 13th minute, the ball not cleared by NSW's defence, leaving Amy Wilson to neatly side-foot a chip over the backline and the keeper, high into the net. Wilson and Gill Thomson were unlucky not to add to the Eclipse tally, both denied by the goalkeeper.

Midway through a slower second half, NSW finally showed some urgency and purpose in their game against a less attacking Canberra. In the 67th minute, Sapphires striker Sarah Walsh was almost in on the 6-yard box when she was fouled by the goalkeeper. Taryn Rockall confidently placed the resultant penalty kick low and left into goal. NSW dominated the remainder of play in search of the winner, but Canberra managed to hold out for the final whistle.
