Under 17's 2007 Matches

Under 17 Internationals for 2007

Written by Thomas Esamie.

This is the first ever match of the as yet unnamed Womens U17 side. Now there's a lot of question about is it U17 or is it U16.. well in this case the definition is athletes under 16 years of age as at 1 January 2007. So theoretically they could all *be* 16 which really isn't *under* 16. Sigh.. anyway what's this event all about? I shall do some cut and paste and let you try to figure it out.

"The AYOF's mission is to discover future Olympic Champions, provide them with an environment reminiscent of an Olympic Games and promote the Olympic ideals of fair play, honesty and pride in your country."

Urgh.. anyway Football is making its debut at this, the 4th such event, to be held at the venues of the Sydney Olympic games. Never mind that football was played at the Sydney Football Stadium and the Olympic Stadium at Homebuch and not Valentine Park, the headquarters of the NSW Football Federation. This was a Friendly match.
