Champions, promotions and relegations
Carlton United were crowned 1909 Victorian Amateur League Champions.
Note: The final season table of the first ever league season in Victoria is not complete. While every effort has been made to determine the results and scores from all thirty matches played in this short season, there is still at least one match where the final score is not known, the Round 6 fixture involving Carlton and Fitzroy on June 12. The Herald published a final table of sorts on July 23, unfortunately omitting the goals columns. As a result, it can be determined that Carlton defeated Fitzroy in the aforementioned fixture.
