A reorganisation of the Victorian Men's Provisional and District Leagues in 1979 resulted in the addition of a third tier Provisional League. Cheltenham, Diamond Creek, North Sunshine, East Carlton, Banksia, Ascot United, Yarraleen and Central Brunswick were allocated to the 1979 Victorian Men's District League Division 2. Noble Park were allocated to the 1979 Victorian Men's District League Division 3. Amalgamations, name changes and withdrawals Crescent United did not compete in Victorian Men's District League competition in 1979. Batman United, Murrumbeena United, Port United and West Brunswick filled the vacancies in the 1979 Victorian Men's District League Division 3. |
