Green Gully Cavaliers, Melbourne Knights, Altona Magic, Heidelberg United, Richmond and Preston Lions contested the 2008 Finals Series.
Altona Magic were crowned 2008 Victorian Premier League Champions.
Frankston Pines, Fawkner Blues and Western Suburbs were automatically relegated to the 2009 Victorian State League Division 1.
With the removal of the Australian Institute of Sport, the 2009 Victorian Premier League reverted to a 12-team competition.
