Notes: The fourth Australia Cup tournament had another change of sponsor with local airline Ansett-ANA donating the £6,000 prizemoney. The only Sydney team that had to play-off in the preliminaries was fourth seed St.George-Budapest who beat Juventus from Canberra and Wallsend to make the Quarter-Finals. Melbourne' third seed Slavia won through to the Quarter-Finals defeating Juventus from Adelaide in Round Two.
