Notes: The sixth Australia Cup tournament saw red hot favourite APIA relinquish its title to rank outside Melbourne-Hungaria. Participation in the Cup series was limited to one team from the ACT, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania, two from Northern New South Wales and South Australia with four from Victoria and Sydney (NSW). Enterants were rigidly segregated into two geographical zones - East and West - to ensure a Sydney-Melbourne final.
