Promotions and relegations
Alexander were crowned 1961 Victorian Metropolitan League Division 2 North Champions.
Alexander and Sicilia were promoted to the 1962 Victorian Metropolitan League Division 1 North.
A reorganisation of the Victorian Metropolitan League in 1962 resulted in an expansion of each league from 10 to 12 teams.
Melbourne University and Heidelberg were promoted to 1962 Victorian Metropolitan League Division 1 North.
Amalgamations and name changes
Sicilia became West Melbourne Sicilia in 1962.
I.C.I. became I.C.I. Deer Park in 1962.
